Severin KA 4845 TypeSwitch Filter Coffee Machine - Description
Keep coffee hot for longer, and choose your preferred strength, with the Severin KA 4845 TypeSwitch coffee machine, built around a genuine stainless steel thermal carafe.
Key features
- AromaSwitch – choose between a stronger morning coffee and a milder afternoon cup
- Fast brewing – up to 1,000 W for quick coffee preparation
- Quality design – stainless steel accents alongside a genuine thermal carafe
- Thermal carafe – a stainless steel carafe with a pour-through lid and comfortable one-handed pouring, for long-lasting heat
- Comfortable extras – a swivel filter with removable 1 x 4 insert, drip stop, and a clearly visible water gauge
- Practical capacity – holds 8 cups, with automatic shut-off
Why a thermal carafe is worth having
A stainless steel thermal carafe keeps coffee properly hot for considerably longer than a glass carafe sitting on a warming plate, without the flavour slowly changing from being kept on a hotplate. The pour-through lid and one-handed operation make serving straightforward, whether that’s the first cup or the last from the pot.
The AromaSwitch means you’re not locked into one strength throughout the day, and the up to 1,000 W heating element keeps either version brewing quickly. The swivel filter’s removable 1 x 4 insert simplifies filling and cleaning, and the drip stop lets the carafe come away mid-brew for an early cup without dripping onto the surface below. A clearly visible water gauge and automatic shut-off round out a machine built for genuinely easy daily use.
Technical highlights

Will the coffee still be hot an hour after brewing? Yes – the stainless steel thermal carafe is specifically built to hold heat for considerably longer than a glass carafe on a hotplate.
