Framus 5/150 Star Bass 1956 / 1957 - Description
1956 - 1957! pre mass prodiction Framus Star Bass 5/150.
Framus 5/150 made in 1956 or 1957 (I reached out to Framus).
A very collectible early “Stones Bass”. Looks to be all original besides the bridge thumbwheels and in great visual & playing condition.
This still comes with the earlier version of the Schaller pickguard with a 6mm output jack. Also 10mm plastic shaft tuners. This is still an instrument from the 1950s so it has no trussrod - the neck however is still nicely straight and allows very comfy action.
There is some common light playwear and one big “dong” on the back. But mostly the varnish is in great condition.
Work done: the neck heel had a big crack and was fixed with 3 screws (1 under the dot fret marker and two under the heel cap) also some touch up, neck reset, setup, cleaning, lubricating etc.
Electronics and pickups work fine, but you need a 6mm jack for the output jack (I might have a spare one)
This a rare find but also is a pretty fun instrument.
