Epiphone Limited Edition ‘78 Les Paul Custom John Sykes – Japan Exclusive, a unique and today clearly wanted model inspired by legendary black Les Paul Custom John Sykes. This version is intended exclusively for the Japanese market – it was not part of the standard European or American distribution, making it a real Japan Exclusive Limited Model. The instrument refers to the period of the late 1970s and 1980s when John Sykes built his distinctive sound in Thin Lizzy and later in Whitesnake. It was this aggressive, singing sustain, strong midrange and powerful riff that defined the guitar sound of the 1987 Whitesnake album. This model gives exactly this climate – the classic elegance of Black Beauty combined with uncompromising power. The body is made of mahogany with maple top, which provides a full, warm and balanced sound with a clear attack.
